Thanks Rich, His name was Atlas and we lost him in January. We have another GSD now, his name is Eli.
We love the Shepherds. My wife has MS and I wanted a large dog to be with her while I am at work or whatever. Seems that both dogs are much alike in that they love her, and are always right by her side. We are looking for a female in hopes of raising some pups.
some day i will run into another unadoptable GSD as were the last two. unfortunately there are no requirements for psychological testing to eliminate potential abusers or those that want "attack dogs" for their own egos.
I know what you mean. I have found over the years that they are not really all that aggressive unless trained to be that way. I do love how they become very protective.....and that is the reason I like to have them around. They seem to WANT to be part of the family more than other breeds we have had. I have a link to some people that I KNOW to be good people, you might find a friend there. http://members.petfinder.org/~LA152/index.html
They are the people that I got Atlas from.
