why reproduction stops

Earthworms release an "Alarm Pheromone" when they get stressed or over populated. It serves as signal to flee or stop reproducing. They also have good pheromones that say "follow me to food" or "let's have sex." I guess it's best to thin out the herd before the alarm pheromone gets into the bedding.See More

We don't have A/C but I have the window blocked, so the hottest it got during those 100 degree days was 85. They do have heat. For bedding, I am using coco coir, paper and newspaper, leaves, and some other scrap. I have kept the worms in my parents basement. They are picky about smell and they even said they can't smell them so I am pretty sure the neighbors are just trying to get me out. Which, I just found a place that doesn't have any problem with smell, so I am in good shape! Cheaper rent too

I don't mind at all.  What do you want to use it for?  Maybe I can suggest a better motor for your use.
