How many people have a worm bin / do vermicomposting (composting with worms)?

- My husband built a wood box, with wire net base - sat out in my shade garden/ At school, the organization that helped us brought us a plastic bin.
- How many pounds of garbage do your worms recycle each week?
- I never measured! Just threw in what i had at home, and the kids saved non greasy/meat waste from lunches.

- I grew up and learned to garden in the Pacific Northwest. My husband and I moved to North Platte in June. I hate throwing away food wastes. I don't have much of a garden yet and not a lot of yard wastes, but the food wastes never cease. I cook vegetarian so have lots of vegetable wastes.
So, I can't find a worm bin, husband busy with new job, and will have to order something online. I'm looking for suggestions and wonder about the heat/cold. Thinking I could keep a small bin in the garage? Any ideas or recommendations are much appreciated! Thanks!
