Take care and have fun with your worms!

I moved the Can O Worms back inside. We have been getting a lot of tropical rain and mosquitos. I cannot do much with the worms in my outside bins right now due to the conditions. I am enjoying have some worms inside where it is cool, controlled and no mosquitos chewing on me! How are your worms doing? Are you getting a lot of castings? Hey your new page looks great!
Dwayne
I started with your standard redworm (EFs). I think I got some PE (India Blues) somehow. I think they came with my EFs and they have really multiplied. I just got the Africans EEs today. They are cool. I have them in my big concrete block bin and was just out with the flash light looking at them. The bin is uncovered and they are right on the surface. I also checked but two other plastic bins with the EFs and PEs, my Can O Worms with the EF in coffee and sawdust and my big compost pile of leaves and manure. I have EFs in the compost pile with native worms too. I have plenty to look at. The red wigglers are probably the most docile and fun to watch. Sounds like you are making good progress with yours and it is fun to see the babies hatch and grow. Have you seen cocoons yet? Thanks again on the book. I will read some tonight. Did you read it for fun or school? I mentioned your book in my post on microbes. Take care, Dwayne
Teaming with Microbes came from Amazon today. It looks like a good book. Thanks again. How are your worms doing?
Dwayne
I have not utilized the Can O Worms to its full potential or in the right way. I started early on indoors and I found that I had a lot of worms migrating down into the bottom where the liquid catches. It drew flies and lots of them. I had it in my office and my business partner quickly lost her interest in having it indoors. Make sure no worms go to the bottom and die or it gets very smelly and may draw flies. In theory the worms are supposed to be able to climb back up to the bottom tray. My Can O Worms is now outside and I am composting with coffee and don't have it loaded up with worms presently. I hear lots of people have great success with the Can O Worms and I wish you luck, lots of compost and no flies!! Have fun!! Dwayne
I did some research on your book "Teaming with Microbes". It looks like a good one and I ordered it off Amazon. Seems like the microbes are at the heart of a lot of this. You may be interested in Bentely Christie's blog post on making microbes. If you have not seen his blog it is good. You are welcome and thank you!!
