Hi, Bob,

I put into the bin whatever raw vegetable matter comes out of the kitchen, and perhaps what I get from local grocers.

I've tentatively come to the conclusion that, at least in the warmer months, best not to have a primary decomposting bin -- that is, go to the worms fairly frequently.

My guess is the garage floor will keep things cool enough for the worms. I'm not yet sure about temperature control myself. This is my first summer.

Any experienced hands out there?

I was wondering if you would tell me what you put in your bins and how long should I keep my scrap food? I have scraps decomposting in a bin now and add to it everyday. Is that good? My garage is not temperature controlled either. Is that a problem and if it is how do I keep my bins cool?
