About Me:
By the age of 7 years old, I had the honor of traveling around the world! It opened my eyes, to the cultures and life-styles of the corners of this small planet. We as a human race, should never pre-judge others, as we come from our own little corners of the earth. Rather, watch, learn, and listen. You just might learn something! From the witch-doctors in Africa to the Eskimos in Alaska, from Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa, to the corn fields of Iowa, this is truely a gorgeous place to be! Love that one you meet, as you never know how they might change your corner of your world!

Worm Factory 360

I have been using the DIY Rubbermaid Worm Bins and have found that my worms were not happy, thus ordered the Worm Factory 360.  After much research, air flow, temp, and ph are the most important elements of a successful worm farm.

With my order of the Worm Factory 360, they have given me a FREE pdf file to share with my friends...thus, here it is:

thanks for the invite.

rats eat worms and veggies given to the worms, so i use wire mesh to keep them out of the bins.

Hi Michelle,

It is nice to see someone else from MO. I love it here and I have been in many states from west to east coast north and south and some midwest too. It doesn't get much better than the ozarks. My son got into the the composting and I am interested in it for my organic farm in Mountain Grove. Will use the castings as a fertilizer and tea spray that I have read that is a fungicide. Will try it this year on my organic apple trees for that fungus that leaves black dots on the leaves and apples and then the leaves ultimately die and fall off. So, all unsellable crops will feed the worms and make a lovely circle of life right here to benefit everyone. I am interested in possible donating foods to housebound elders, homeless and single moms with children under 2 for better nutrition and brain function. I am going to fertilize with the castings, kelp and alfalfa meal, molasses and possibly milk....all organic.

So, that is some of the irons in the fire...:) Tell me about yourself as well and where you are located in MO. and thanks for the friend invite...:)

Flowthrou bins are pritty easy the hard part is how big-i had some aluminum siding that i got for free and that is how big i built it ..3ftx5ft the aluminum averlaped only 5or6in so far i spent  $40 or so, today  i put weed eat string on. I live in a cold climate so have to wait another month or two before i put anything in it.

if you can build a box you can build a flothrou,

Hi Michelle!   Hey, I read about your experience with the tub.  Did you modify it?  I'm using a 35 gallon tub modified with two 4x4" panels on each end with bolted galvanized metal mesh for air flow.  They're really doing well and thriving heartily right now.  Maybe it's the modification I made that works well.  It can dry out if I neglect them too long.  Such is the case that I realized I wasn't watering them sufficiently.  After I increased the amount of water they grew in size and are populating quickly.

Hi Michelle, Have you gotten your 360 yet?  I just started mine on 2/27, in my basement, my kitchen it too small even for the 360. I have used EF's in my backyard composter, but they do not survive the winter here. So far I think my 360 looks good, I check it every day. I have not noticed any smell at all. The one thing I noticed were the worms escaping. I put another tray on top with bedding and that problem has virtually disappeared.
