Vermicomposting, worm bin, composting with worms community and forums

Hello All, I'm wanting to start a worm bin and not sure how to go about it. Size or space is not a problem and I'm in Texas so it's not to cold (most of the time), but does get hot in summer. I think the flow through bins are interesting but I can't figure out what holds every thing in. Seems like stuff would just fall through the bars in the bottom.

You line the bottom with cardboard or lots of newspaper when you start it up.

It is surprising that it does stay in. Lots of people actually complain they have trouble

getting the castings out at harvest time.

Hi Earl

Welcome to this site!

What you do or build for worms will depend on your time/skills/need situation.

Least bother, least work means buy ready made bins. They range from a few dollars up to tens of thousands of dollars.

If you have time, study the videos and pages on this site to learn what to do.

Check out the "groups" tab on top of this page, and join a few groups.

Or scroll down through the videos to watch those who discuss what they built and why.

There is a lot to learn here.

Enjoy the journey!
