About Me:
I am a third year student at Wits University in South Africa, studying biochem and cell bio, microbiology and biotech and applied and experimental physiology. I regard myself as an intellectual, read large amounts and write novels, as yet nothing published (because they are all incomplete), I enjoy gardening, particularly with my cacti. I spend large amounts of time making things, building and designing devices for the home. I love my pet dogs, them loving the taste of my cacti aside. I draw some lovely artistic things when I have too much time free, some of my friends have noted similarities to such artists as Salvador, I have aspirations for bass guitar when I finish my studies and thus have more time free. I enjoy activities such as rock climbing with mates sometimes; however I do have an insane fear of heights. and I feel the pull towards self sufficiency with regards to my consumables, i.e. growing large amounts of my own food all year round, the taste of home grown food is often more intense than the commercially available stuff. I am on my way to becoming green, but not rather based on proper scientific knowledge. Any more, I might add later.

My worms!

they are still coming, i need to get everything properly set up first.

Hi Bryan

I'm a newbie at vermicomposting so don't know how much I can help:) Try our local expert Jenni (http://vermicomposters.ning.com/profile/Jenni) she's been doing it for a long time. Good luck!

Morag

Hi Bryan - I will be happy to help you - what do you need to know?

Bryan, I have some worms to spare if you would be interested. My husband makes and sells wormbins for R450 for a 4 tier standalone bin and R900 for a 5 tier set of basins contained in a outer bin. Both bins come with a starter pack of worms. Worms alone are R150 for a 1 litre bucket including a bit of bedding, mature worms and cocoons. You can see photos of my bins on my page.
Alternatively you can get hold of the EIGSA (Earthworm Interest Group of South Africa) - http://www.earthwormssa.co.za/ - they sell worms and bins as well.
Let me know.
