I'm fifty five and retired because of 27 years in the excellent Texas Teacher's Retirement System and Ankylosing Spondylitis that made continued employment impossible. I have a much better outlook on life these days. Nature and her many creatures are fascinating. Watching a native Texas Lizard capture and eat a tree roach is a thing of beauty. I have a large goldfish pond that friends helped me construct and six feeder goldfish that I save from death. They are now fat, very healthy and have brilliant colors. They follow eat other in a straigt line and it is amazing to watch. Gardening was already an excellent hobby that has only been an enhanced experience with the addition of composting and vermicomposting. Worms are our friends. They come in peace to eat our garbage and our hair, if we so desire.
Hey George hows things around the Hill Country? Cold and dry here, and yes Larry is in and out but I don't think he's a worm kinda guy! Have you tried the suit cases yet? My wine crate is doing great but my experiment in the old dresser didn't. Don't know why so I'm trying again. I think I added orange peel to the last one, not sure, but maybe that did it. Any ideas on what might stop production?
Hi George, Great pictures. I hope that one of these days I'll finish a pond we started in my back yard. By the way my youngest said to tell you his name is George too. I guess he thinks you all have to stick together.

Hi George You commented me on a u tube video last month and I commented on your site. Glad to see you here, you have a nice site and I also love nature.
I just joined and enjoyed looking at your site. What do you think of outdoor vermincomposting in Maine. I have my worms in my basement now but I would like to get them out of there next year. Its either outdoor or build a shelter and heating it. I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks Howard
First of all, Thanks for the reply. I see you have your bin outside. How do you intend to deal with our weather. From my reading, I guess the winter is not so bad but won't the summers be too hot for the worms? Which variety of worm do you have?
