i had a bunch of soldier fly larva until the first good rain a couple of month ago and they are migrated out of the worm bins and compost heaps. they were lying dead everywhere. great composters.
Thanks for the welcome, Frank. You are right about BSFL being great composters. I've heard they are attracted to sites where others BSFs have been before, so maybe you will get some more. They are so hardy in the heat of summer. I liked your pictures, especially the Eisenia fetida--beautiful!

i just can't figure out why they did a mass suicide, i had hundreds of them dead on the patio around the worm bins.
