100% castings would be the ideal. But until we have enough casings on hand its mix the castings into the soil to enrich what we do have. Color me green with envy.

I kinda agree , I stay away from any dirt, Good soil and compost are the way to go

Why bother with the dirt? I have 12 pots of tomatos in almost straight compost and they love it. Straight worm castings might not work since they are more concentrated than regular compost.

In my landscaping business I use compost and castings when i am planting something in the ground. ( I use castings that are near 100%) if you are planting in a pot i would use 20% castings the rest potting soil if you are planting them in the ground…

coffee grounds

I drink only instant coffee. The other day I was in the coffee shop with a friend. I had remembered to bring a plastic shopping bag. I asked the clerk to fill it with coffee grounds and now I have a relliable source of grounds.

free gloves

I was at county health today and asked the nurse for a pair of gloves. She complied and was interested in my worm ranch. I will see her in six weeks and probably bring her some sample red wigglers.

Rodli,

Thank you for joining!. It has been a great experience meeting everyone here. I had no idea that so many people would be interested in putting themselves on the vermicomposters map and sharing their experiences here. It is a great group of folks here. Please let me know if you have ideas on how to make it better.

Steven
