27 from Atlanta suburbs and I consider myself a hobby farmer! I needed a supplement to spending all the money on plant food so google led me to worms. So now I have free fishing bait and soon, free fertilizer!

Welcome aboard, Mark. How many worms did you order? Unless space is really at a premium, I suggest using a 10-18 gal. tote. Nothing wrong with the smaller size; you just have to be extra careful not to overfeed or add food scraps that might harm the worms.

I'm not familiar with the filter/softener you mention, but worms are pretty tough critters. Aside from the initial dampening of the bedding, the food scraps should provide most of the additional moisture necessary. Peaches are especially juicy, so I wouldn't worry about it. You might quarter the next peach and spread it around so the moisture evens out. Give 'em time to finish what you've already fed before adding more food.

well I dont think the filter/softener thing cause too much trouble because i opened the lid today and everyone was in the bedding! and I think at least a week is in order before I give them anything else to feed on....
