When did you start composting with worms?
June 20, 2002
How were you introduced to vermicomposting?
It was a science project that I came up with.
What do your worms like to eat?
Paper, cardboard, watermelon, anything I can get my hands on!
What kinds of worms do you have?
E. fetida, E. hortensis, and starting a few others shortly.
What worm bins do you use?
none or wood boxes.
How many pounds of garbage do your worms recycle each week?
A lot!
About Me:
I am graduating soon with my BSN. I run Keith's Worm Farm, which started as a high school project and has grown from there. I plan on becoming a community nurse that encourages farming and growing healthy, delicious food.

I just expanded my worm business further, into a warehouse. Well, today I got that dreaded phone call from the landlord stating that people could smell the worms. Keep in mind, the only ones I keep in the warehouse are the E. fetida. I can't smell anything, the landlord says he really can't smell anything. At most, it smells like soil. Any suggestions are appreciated on how to deal with this issue. I tried to stay under the radar, but apparently that did not work…

Welcome!  It's great to think big. I know a guy that rented an empty store in a strip mall, has his worms in 5 gallon buckets on palettes. Does your warehouse have heat and A/C? What kind of bedding material do you use? I'm raising Africans and they have to be kept between 70 and 80 degrees. They die off if it gets to 60 or colder but do OK at 100 so climate control is important. They are high maintanance but are great producers..I invite you as a friend. We'll swap ideas on growing a profitable business. Thanks, Milt
