Hi Joe!  I'm down here in Texas about 150 miles from the border raising African's. I just bedded 4,000 little one's (4-5 inches) Sat and their eating about 8 pounds a day and beginning to mature. Mostly they eat shredded newspaper that I run through my Fellowes paper shredder. I've burned up a couple shredders but this one's going strong 3 years now. I haven't had time to surf this site yet so I don't want to say something that's been discussed already. Write anytime..Milt

You have a nice operation going, Milton! Quite inspirational, indeed. I have been going with one homemade worm bin for just over a year now. This past week, I separated the top 5 inches of material, which should include most of the worms, and made 5 separate composters with that material. What I have left is some beautiful vermicompost just ready to be placed on my garden containers. You must have quite a large garden or farm to use your vermicompost?

Hola from Mexico Joseph,

Thank you very kindly for your compliment I believe from yesterday. I cannot access my original YucatanNeem@gmail.com account so I also for now cannot access my page. I just signed up using my newer EcoTechMexico@Gmail.com email and new membership so maybe I´ll see you around on this site from time to time. We have so many projects demanding our time that we work 7 days and I very rarely have time...or take it...to enjoy the several sites we have memberships with. One can learn a lot though and it´s also nice to exchange w/ nice people  as well in English from tome to time because I am probably the only English within an hour or two of our project.

Best of luck and success to you and thanks again for your generous comment!

That compost will make your flowers grow for sure. I now have over 60 compost bins and sell worms and compost through my web site www.woosworms.com and the Orleans Farmers' market. Growing worms is like an addiction. Thanks for being a friend.

Thanks for the welcome!  I noticed that you got some worms from Worms, Etc.  That's where I just got mine first batch.   Hope I do as well as you...your pictures are wonderful.  And I am thinking I may have made a mistake.  I stripped my newspapers rather than shredding with a shredder like I saw in your pictures.  I also had order a bag of shredded cardboard with my worm order so maybe that will help offset the newspaper strips I used.  Almost a week and they are still alive at least.
