I think what Susan has is 1/4 inch hardware cloth. I made a sifter 17in x 14in that would sit on top of a cat litter pan and my worm boxes to sift vermicompost after I separated the worms.
I fed mine our Halloween jack-o-lanterns last year and just cut it up into small pieces.
The only problem: they ate the gooey pulpy inside like CRAZY and a hard outer shell remained from what was the outside "skin" of the pumpkin.
