What did you think of Applehoff's book? I read "Worms Eat My Garbage" cover to cover as well as "The Worm Book" by Taylor. Kinda felt like she was a bit too practical (i.e. cruel to the worms). Did you get that sense?

Applehoff has the attitude in her book that she will do what is convenient for her not the worms so not to worry if they die etc. and focuses on that mentality in her book. Of course, there will be some degree of that sort of "practicality" that is necessary in worm binning but I liked Taylor's treatment a bit better since it is more well rounded. He describes several methods that people use ranging from the "just leave the worm bin alone for 6 month for them all to die" to treating them more like pets and then lets the reader decide whether to adopt a more lax way or a more attentive way or something in between.
