Hi FolksVery new to this and have read that pineapple will kill worms. Is squash safe to feed to them as I have a lot that I can compost or feed to my worms.Many thanks for the advice.ChrisContinue

"Even though they eat the bedding, it isn't considered as food. With adding kitchen scraps, or whatever you feed them, it is always better to start with small portions, and over time increase the portions and gauge carefully how fast they eat…"

"To much food will create anaerobic conditions even if it is not too hot. Been there and done that. However I do add more when its cold out. The worms live in the garage but it still gets chilly. Extra food heats the bin up."

"Hi Chris My guess is if food pilles up you overfeeding, but if your worms can keep up just go ahead.  If you got to much food, there are ways to speed up the process. Shredding your waste food or freezing it before feeding should speed…"

" Yes squash is fine to feed the worms. I would chop it up as small as possible. I try not to feed mine anything with mature seeds that will germinate later."
