I'm new to composting and live in TX where summers are HOT. I have tried bin-type composting (without worms) but I haven't been very good about tending to it and turning it as needed due to my previous schedule, a broken foot, and hibernation from the heat.
I really want to compost and recycle everything I can, but I need it to be fairly easy to do. I have been researching vermicomposting, but I am reluctant because of the 100 + degree temps we frequently have in the summer and the occasional below freezing temps in the winter.
I'm concerned and hesitant because I'm afraid that the heat will kill the worms, so I am here to learn more. As much as I desire to compost, I am not having the bin of worms in my house. I just can't do that.
I look forward to getting to know you and learning from your experiences. Amy
