Vermicomposting, worm bin, composting with worms community and forums

Well... it has been about 3 months and I'm still pretty addicted to checking my worm bin unnecessarily, obsessively and basically daily. Each time I take a peak I still can't help but be fascinated by it all... so I had to upload this photo. We're all worm fanatics here anyways so that's ok, right?

Btw... if you're looking at this click on the image itself to see the image in its full resolution glory....I like looking at this image "up close"... just don't let your coworkers catch you gazing into the cloud of worms n'garbage.. they'll really think you've really gone a little nutty hehe

(I uploaded a similar photo yesterday... but took one I like a little better today)

The worms were like that when I opened my worm bin... i didn't touch them :)... actually if I tried to arrange them they would all burrow.. which they usually do fairly quickly after I open the lid of my worm bin anyways. I believe they were all congregating around a clump of rice I had sitting there on the surface.

I have an old sony point and shoot digital camera I used for that photo, the "sony dsc-w1". It is a pretty basic camera.

Hello Steven,
did they get together and congregate like that all by themselves or did you somehow "nudge" them? I can't wait till my worms will do that.
What camera did you use?

That is a fantastic shot, Steven!
I loved the "I'm still pretty addicted to checking my worm bin unnecessarily" bit - too funny (and oh so true for most passionate vermicomposters)

Hello. My name is DeDe, and I'm a Worm Peeker. LOL!

I can't wait until my bin is this robust. Until then, I'll have to gaze longingly into this photo of your bin. Thanks!

Thanks for the comment. That is a bit of lettuce and some left over rice. Although I've been a little more careful about how much cooked rice I add to the bin at once after my bin went a little sour from it one time.

When you put worm bin photos on your screensaver you might have to admit you are powerless over red wigglers... It's Worm Peekers Anonymous!
